Clayton County Register, Thur., 17 Apr. 1930.

Mrs. Charles Boller, nee Wilhelmina Pfeil, was born at Drewelow, Germany, Oct. 2th, 1863, and passed away at her late home near Volga City, Iowa, on Palm-Sunday April 13th, 1930, at the age of 66 years, five months and fourteen days.

At the age of 16 years she came with her parents to this country, and after residing in Chicago, Ill., for a few years she came to Clayton County, Iowa, where in 1882 she was united in marriage to John Staade. Seven children were born to this union, of which three preceded their mother in death - one in infancy, a son George, at the age of 32 years and another son, John, at the age of 38 years. Those surviving their mother are: Charles Staade, of Farmersberg, Mrs. Minnie Rohwedder, of Edgewood, Fred Staade at home and Mrs. Alma Berndt of Fayette.

A year after the death of her husband, John Staade, which occurred in 1897, Mrs. Staade was married to Charles Boller. This union was blessed with two children, of which one died in infancy, and one son, Ernest, who is still at home, surviving his mother.

About four years ago the Boller family moved to Volga City. For some time Mrs. Boller was ailing, and was confined to her bed for the last seven weeks, receiving the best of care from her husband and loved ones; and everything possible was done to give comfort and relief, until she closed her eyes in the last sleep.

Besides her husband and children the departed leaves fifteen grandchildren, two half-brothers and one half-sister, besides other relatives and many old time friends and neighbors.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. C. H. Franke on Wednesday, April 16th, at the late home and in the Evangelical church here at Elkader. Interment was made in the Farmersburg cemetery.
