En. TELESCOPE,--It is with regret that I pen you the news of the death of Mr. John Knight, who departed this life on May 6th, of consumption. Deceased was born at Stockport, England, Oct. 20th, 1819. His remains were interred at the Willoughby Cemetery, Elk Creek tp. By request of the deceased, Rev. John Brown preached the funeral sermon, which was very impressive. Over thirty teams followed in procession to the cemetery, with six pall-bearers walking either side of the vehicle containing the corpse.
Deceased was a man much liked and respected by all who knew him, and his loss will be deeply felt in the community in which he resided.
Mrs. Knight desires and hereby publicly returns her thanks to the neighbors and friends for their kind assistance during the long afflictions of her beloved husband; and also for their respect to his memory.
