Birth: Mar. 20, 1894
Death: Jul. 19, 1897

"Samuel Boyd Nixon, youngest child of S. F. and Mary Nixon of this city was born March 20, 1894, and died July 19, 1897, aged three years, three months and twenty nine days. On the 20th the family and relatives and a few friends went to the Thomas school house, near their former home, where Rev. L. B. Tremain, of Cuba, conducted the funeral services using II Samuel 12, 23, last clause as the text. The body was laid to rest in the Willoughby cemetery, north of Agenda, in the firm assurance that he shall rise again in the resurrection of the just. Dear little Boyd was such a bright, cheerful and kind little fellow tht the whole neighborhood loved him. A few months ago his arm was broken and his sufferings and cheerful bravery endeared him to us more than ever. He had recovered enough to play freely his funny pranks."
"Safe in the arms of Jesus,
Safe from corroding care,
Safe from the world's temptations,
Sin can not harm him there."
