David Allison 'Al' Arnold, age 81, died Mon. June 21, 1999, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. For the past 4 years he had resided at Highland House in Watertown. He was born Oct. 4, 1917, in Rock County, WI, the son of David Alexander and Eva (Hudson) Arnold. He was a graduate of Milton Union High School and attended Wisconsin State College in Whitewater. He was a grocer in Burlington until 1943. He married Marion Ethel Keith on March 10, 1941, in Dubuque, IA. He and his wife farmed on the Keith family farm at Lima Center and on the Arnold family farm near Edgerton. He also farmed near Whitewater from 1956 to 1961. Al was a farm equipment fearer in the Whitewater area from 1961 to 1968 and a new home salesman and real estate broker in Jefferson from 1968 until his retirement in 1973. He and his wife were residents of Cold Spring, Janesville, and of Watertown since 1992. He was a former member of the Congregational Church of Milton. He was also a former elder of the North Lima Presbyterian Church and in 1994 was a member of the Ministerial Search Committee of the F.C.U.C.C. He was a former board member of the Oakdale School in Rock Co. and Badgerland Co-op in Whitewater. He was a member of Kiwanis. Surviving are his wife, Marion of Watertown; his daughter, Kenyce (Thomas) Derleth; his son, David (Ruth) of Minneapolis, MN; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Marge (Roger) Arnold of Janesville, Ardis Stevens of Bozeman, MT, and Mae Olin of Kissimmee, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers, Jess and John Arnold. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Fri., June 25, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, with Rev. Stephen Savides officiating. Burial will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Cemetery, Janesville. Friends may call Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorials may be made to the church or Highland House of Watertown.
