George Freedly Cooper was the son of Daniel Boone and Sarah Jane Hendrickson Cooper. He was married to Candus Pridemore, daughter of Theodore & Louisa Goodwin Pridemore, on March 9, 1896. They were the parents of 15 children.

Passes Away Saturday After Long Illness With Heart Ailment

Funeral service was held at the Church of the Nazarene here, at 2 p.m. Wednesday, for George F. Cooper, 70 well-known man of this locality who died at 11;20 a.m. last Saturday at the home of a son, Earl Cooper, north of Mitchell. For several months he had been suffering from a heart ailment and other complications.
The services were conducted by the Rev. Loy Snow of Bedford, and the Rev. S. S. Schimpf, pastor of the church. Funeral arrangements were handled by Haverly mortuary. Burial was in the Sheeks cemetery.
Mr. Cooper was born October 12, 1874 to Daniel Boone and Sarah Hendrickson Cooper, in this county. He was married to Miss Candace Pridemore, and all of their married life was spent in this locality. They were the parents of 15 children, all of whom are still living.
For many years Mr. Cooper was employed at the Lehigh quarry northeast of Mitchell, retiring from this work in 1939. He also worked at various times as a farmer. He was a member of Mitchell I.O.O.F. Lodge.
Family survivors are three sons, Earl Cooper, near Mitchell, Claude Coooper, of Auburn, and Lowell Cooper, in navy service and stationed in California; 12 daughters, Mrs. Wilma Sheeks and Mrs. Mary Sheeks of this locality, Mrs. Mamie Cutsinger and Mrs. Gladys Edwards of Indianapolis, Mrs. Pearl Pfrommer and Mrs. Adah Craigmile of Lafayette, Mrs. Elsie Paton of Waterloo, Mrs. Evelyn Ullman, Mrs. Georgia Walters and Miss Lois Cooper of Muncie, Mrs. Irene Owens of Huron, Mrs. Rosalie Payton of Auburn; 35 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
