Fairmount - Funeral services for Bernard L. Allred, 79, Fairmount, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Nolder Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. William Kaiser and the Rev. Stacy Weesner officiating. Burial will be in the Park Cemetery.
Masonic rites will be held at the funeral home at 8 p.m. today.
Mr. Allred died Sunday evening at his home following an extended illness.
Mr. Allred was the founder of Allred Electric Co., which he started in 1918 and remained active in until June. He had lived in Fairmount his entire life.
He was a member of the Fairmount Masonic Lodge for 50 years, and also held memberships in the Scottish Rite, Fort Wayne; Murat Shrine, Indianapolis; Order of Eastern Star; Fairmount Methodist Church and the Mizmur Shire Club of Marion.
Mr. Allred was a charter member of the Fairmount Federated Band and for approximately 50 years had been associated with the Shrine bands of Fort Wayne and Indianapolis.
He had served on the Fairmount Town Board from 1932 until 1940.
Surviving are the widow, Ethel; one son, William D., Fairmount; one grandchild; a brother, Frank, Fairmount; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Sadler, Ventnor, N.J., and Mrs. Myrtle Cosby, Fairmount, and two half sisters, Mary McCoy, Fairmount and Dorothy Lees, New Port Richey, Fla.
