Charles W. Bowman, Sr., 71, died in his rural Tippecanoe County hoe at 9:3 AM Thursday, April 22, 1993. Born March 27, 1922, in Cannelton, IN, he moved to Lafayette from Evansville in 1953. He married Betty Jo Garrison on March 19, 1949, in Cannelton; she survives.

Mr. Bowman was a saw operator at the former National Homes Corp. from 1953 until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the Southern Baptist Church.

Also surviving are a son, Charles W. Bowman, Jr. of Lafayette; two daughters, Betty Joyce (Mrs. Donald) Yost of Lafayette and Charlotte (Mrs. Earl) Williamson of Colfax; a brother, John Bowman; and two sisters, Evelyn Seals and Geraldine Brock, all of Cannelton; and a half-brother, Monroe Shepherd of Iowa.
