DeMotte, Indiana

James M. Feleki, age 79, of DeMotte, IN passed away on January 10, 2010.
He was born on June 23, 1930 aboard ship of the RMS Mauretania while crossing the Atlantic to the U.S., the son of the late Henry and Suzanna (Hegyi) Feleki, both deceased.
On June 15, 1957, he married Jolene Benoit, who survives. Jim attended primary school in Chicago, IL and in 1936 his family moved to Gilliam Twp, Indiana where he continued his studies before helping on the family farm. He later became a metal finisher and worked for the Budd Company in Gary, IN for 28 years and an additional 3 years in Philadelphia where he retired in 1985. After retirement, he worked for Kaper's Building Materials in DeMotte, IN and helped Rex Myers on his farm in Wheatfield. From 1952 - 1954, James served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Wheatfield American Legion, Post # 406 and a past member of the DeMotte American Legion, Post #440, the Philadelphia American Legion, Post #2, and the Lowell VFW Post #6841. Jim enjoyed fishing with his wife, Jolene at their cottage in Beechwood, Wisconsin.
James is survived by his loving wife, Jolene Feleki; children, Donna (Kevin) Paradis, Hobart, IN, Susan (John) Christopher, DeMotte, IN, Michelle (Mark) Mulhern, DeMotte, IN, Annette (Mike) Grundell, Wheatfield, IN; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Esther (Lyle) Kessinger, DeMotte, IN; brothers, John (Gail) Feleki, Rensselaer, IN, Julius Demeter, Hemet, CA, Orwin (Betty) Demeter, Grass Valley, CA.
Friends may call on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 from 2-8 PM at Jackson Funeral Service, 200 Third St. SW, DeMotte, IN. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Jackson Funeral Service with Pastor Jeff Cagwin officiating.
