Born at Marion, he lived in the Battle Ground community most of his life. He was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren church.
He was married in 1908 to Mary Cruea, who survives with six sons, Doris, Chester, Ollie, Verlin and Alford, at home, and Robert Sisson of Lafayette; four daughters, Mrs. Guy Macak and Mrs. Robert Rohrabaugh of Delphi, Mrs. Ogle Bell of Lafayette and Mrs. Lee Little of Lafayette R. 3, and a half brother, Grover Cain of Lafayette R. 3.
