Anderson, Dorothy 'Dot' Andrea (Alford)—Passed away quietly on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at age 90.

Dot was born in Houston, TX, on June 22, 1922, and moved to California at age 7, with her parents, W.G. Alford and Edith Mary (Nielsen), and her brother, W.G. Alford, Jr. She graduated from high school in Oakland, CA, and except for a few years in the Bay Area and Southern CA, she spent most of her life in Sacramento. In addition to being a homemaker and an excellent seamstress, she was a member of the Job's Daughters Bethel #1, Order of the Eastern Star, Rising Star Chapter #36, a charter member of North Ridge Country Club, Fort Sutter Yacht Club and Weber Point Yacht Club. She and her husband belonged to many insurance associations.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Lawrence E. Anderson, a retired Independent Insurance Adjuster.

She had many dear long-time friends, both from the neighborhood and her other associations.

Lake Tahoe was a special place for her, having had a house there for many years. She also enjoyed many years with her husband both yachting and traveling in their RV.

Dot, lovingly referred to as 'Granu,' was preceded in death by her grandchildren John Jeffrey Zahourek and Kelly Lynn Bennett, her son-in-law, Frank T. Bennett, and grandson-in-law, Frank Ingargiola.

Dot is survived by her brother, W. Gary Alford, Jr. of Sacramento, CA; her daughters, Sue Kyle (Mike) of Minden, NV, and Lynn Bennett of Granite Bay, CA; granddaughters, Kimberly Ingargiola-Burns of Folsom, CA, and Karen A. Bennett of Roseville, CA; great granddaughter, Kaila Ingargiola; great grandson, Ryan Burns; great great grandsons, Kaidin Ingargiola and Michael Robertson; 11 nieces & nephews and their children and grandchildren.

At her request, no services will be held.
