Gloria Rae Black, 52, of Big Falls died Sunday, Sept. 22, 1996, at her home. Graveside services were held at Evergreen Cemetery in Big Falls.

She grew up in Big Falls and moved to Bemidji in 1979. The former Gloria Anderson, she married Winfield Black June 6, 1981, in Bemidji. She was a waitress for Country Kitchen in Bemidji for 12 years, then moved back to Big Falls in 1991. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, cooking and baking.

She is survived by her husband of Big Falls; a son, Boyer Lievsay of Chiliquen, Ore.; a daughter, Diane Anderson of Hollywood, FL; step-sons, Roger (Judy) Black of McIntosh, Douglas Black of Grand Forks and Leon Black of Minneapolis: two grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; four sisters, Dorothy Keep and Betty Kimball of Littlefork, Delores (Jim) Boes of Big Falls and JoAnn (Thore Throson) Anderson of Bemidji; a brother, Gerald "Sonny" Anderson of Green Briar, AR; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Bernard Lievsay; her mother, Alice Reese; her father, Oscar Anderson; a stepfather, Clyde Hall; and a sister, Marilyn Johnson. (Bemidji Pioneer Sept. 24, 1996)
