Johnnie Marie Alsup, beloved wife of the late Carl R. Alsup for 54 years. Loving mother of Michael Alsup & wife "Mimi", Kathryn Anderson & husband, Don, Richard Alsup & wife Claire & the late Kevin Alsup; dear sister of Wilma Rice, Joyce Van Booven, Buddy Hardy & the late Pauline Altman. Devoted grandmother of Shawnelle, Michelle, Michael, Denise, Robbie, Jason, Drew & Cole. Also survived by 10 great grandchildren & 1 great great grandson. A native of Arkansas & Oklahoma before moving to Richmond, CA in 1943, where she met & married Carl Alsup. They then raised the family in Martinez & Concord. She was always the backbone of the family. She enjoyed trips to Lake Tahoe to play the slots. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed working crossword puzzles. She enjoyed watching the Oakland A's on television, but she especially enjoyed family gatherings. Friends are invited to attend funeral services Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Oakmont's Inspiration Chapel. 2099 Reliez Road, Lafayette. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Oakmont's Redwood Chapel. Interment will be at Oakmont Memorial Park. Oakmont Mortuary.
