Mrs. Alma Gordon 1910-1973

Mrs. Alma Andrea Gorden, Age 36 passed away suddenly at her home in Bagley on March 1, 1973. Mrs. Gordon was born February 24, 1910 in Alida, Minnesota to parents John and Hannah Sletten. She grew up in the Alida area and Mayville, North Dakota. She was married to Earling "Dick" Gordon in Shevlin in Shevlin on December 28, 1929. The Gordons moved to Eagle Bend, Minnesota in 1930, returning to Bagley in 1936 and to Shevlin in 1937 where they operated a cafe and gas station until 1957. Mrs. Gordon was an active member of Clearwater Lutheran Church in Shevlin and the Ladies groups of that church. Mr. Gordon moved to Bagley in 1966. She has been an employee of the Pederson and Anderson Drug Store in Bagley.
Survivors include one son Roger of Duluth, and his wife Dorothy, three grandchildren; Cindy, Jeffrey and Susan all of Duluth; one brother Ervin Sletten of Shevlin; five sisters; (Angus) Mrs. Art Gordon of LaVerne, California, Mrs. Gladys Prouty of Bagley, (Hazel) Mrs. Glen Sauer of Bagley, (Margaret) Mrs. Nick Lanners of Shevlin, (Eleanor) Mrs. John Lanners of Shevlin. Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 5, at 2 p.m. in the Clearwater Lutheran Church of Shevlin. The Rev. Allen Skindlov officiated. Burial was made in the Clearwater Lutheran Cemetery under the directions of the Cease Funeral Home.
