Lorna Drill, 76, of Winthrop and formerly of Gibbon, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 21, at the Augustana Lutheran Church in Gibbon with Pastor Allan E. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon and will continue on Saturday for one hour prior to the time of service at the church.

Lorna is survived by a daughter, Brenda Drill, of Winthrop; a very special friend, Gwen (Taralseth) Reeves, of Winthrop; brothers and sisters-in-law Harlan and Lois Berger of Gibbon, Ronald and Pat Berger of Pennsylvania; a sister-in-law, Lucille Berger of Winthrop; a brother-in-law, Roger Nestande of Excelsior; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Louis and Karen Melius and Earl and Marjorie Lindstrand all of Winthrop; and by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl, in 1996; a son, Lynn, in 1970; a brother, Alloyus Berger; and by sisters, Leora Buerkle and Marion Nestande.

Lorna Irene Drill, the daughter of Arthur and Elrena (Kiecker) Berger was born on December 29, 1926, in Wellington Township, Renville County. She married Carl Alfred Drill on October 9, 1945, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon. After marriage they lived in Gibbon where she was a cook at the Gibbon Schools. She then worked at Kraft Foods in New Ulm for several years before returning to the Gibbon Schools as a cook. Lorna had lived in Gibbon most of her life but for the past six years she has lived with her daughter, Brenda, in Winthrop. She loved her husband and her family very much. Lorna was a member of the Augustana Lutheran Church in Gibbon.
