CUMBERLAND Irene Leona "Boots" Allen, 77, of Industrial Boulevard, Cumberland, died Friday, April 21, 2000, at Memorial Hospital.

Born Feb. 7, 1923, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Loretta Jack. She also was preceded in death by one son, Robert L. Richardson; one brother, Clarence Jack; and two sisters, Velma "Piney" Anderson and Lillian Martin. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Allen was a retired waitress for Star Restaurant, Baltimore Street. She was a former employee of the Celanese Corporation, Cumberland, and a member of the Centre Street United Methodist Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Donna J. Richardson, and granddaughter, Brandi, with whom she resided; one son, Larry N. Richardson and wife Mary Kay, Decatur, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Tammy Richardson, Brandi Robinette, Renee Richardson, Michelle Richardson, Kathleen Richardson, Bobbie Sue Richardson, Larry Joseph Richardson, and Keri Richardson; and three great-grandchildren, Hunter Hosselrode, Blake Richardson and Bryce Richardson.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lloyd B. McCanna officiating.

Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.

Aunt Irene, I do remember you when I lived in Zihlman as a very young girl and Grandma Piney taking me to different places. I do remember the both of you taking me swimming to the ocean and that was a great time that we shared. Love and miss you.
