Wife of County Commissioner Succumbs to Pneumonia

Mrs. Edith Esther Campbell, the wife of Thomas Campbell, county commissioner, died at the family residence in Laclede Monday morning at 9 o'clock. Pneumonia following flu was the cause of death.

Deceased was a native of Oregon, born October 12, 1875, in Stayton, that state, her maiden name being Markham and being a member of the family of Markhams who were early settlers in Seneaquoteen, as the old crossing of the river at Laclede was then known, the family locating there in November 1883.

Mr. and Mrs. Campbnell's marriage took place in Sandpoint on May 14, 1892. There were born to the union 11 children, eight of whom survive.

Besides the family of children, and her husband, Mrs. Campbell left her mother, four brothers, and a sister to mourn her loss.

The funeral occurred Wednesday in Laclede and was very largely attended. Many of the county officials went from the county seat to attend.
