Willard Dale Allen, 78, was born May 29, 1932, in Burley, Idaho, He died Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, in Shoshone.
Willard graduated from Burley High School in 1951 and completed one year of aeronautical mechanic training at Idaho State University. He then honorably served four years in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict as a staff sergeant performing air plane maintenance. He received a call to serve a mission for the LDS Church but was unable to serve due to a hunting accident. He later served a stake mission in Burley.
On Aug. 30, 1957, he married Joyce Nason in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He made a successful career as an entrepreneur working in carpentry and rentals and owned and operated Magic Valley Gas and Oil. He owned several Texaco gas stations in the Magic Valley area. He was an expert auto mechanic and made a hobby of acquiring wrecked cars and restoring them. He was honest, hard-working and sincere in all that he did. He was a loving father, husband and son, and a devoted brother, church member and friend. His family and love of the Lord always came first. He will be greatly missed.
Willard is survived by his wife, Joyce Nason Allen; seven children and 16 grandchildren. His children include Lori Rich (Brent), Russell Allen, Glen Allen (Linda), Joy Myers (Tim), Stan Allen (Jeanne), Shirley Chapple and Sterling Allen (Michelle). He is also survived by three siblings, Wanda Kerbs, Mable Seamons and James B. Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents, James B. Allen and Alice Isabel Cushion Allen; his siblings, Lloyd Allen, Charles Allen, Alice McCord, Mona Mueller and Pert Allen; and a son-in-law, James Chapple.
