BELLMER MARIE E. Redding -- 104, of Redding, died Saturday Feb. 16, 2002 of natural causes at Oakdale Heights Assisted Living. No services will be conducted. She was born in Minerva, Ohio Nov. 18, 1897. Marie started her career as a government purchasing agent during WWI and became an administrative officer for the federal Public Building Administration retiring at the age of 55(1952). She had real estate experience in Florida, moved West and became a real estate saleswoman in Los Altos, following which she decided to get serious about her art ability that she achieved as a teenager. Over the next 40 years she studied under 23 different artists, and became expert in ceramics, slumped glass, oils, water colors and jewelry. Many of her art works (over 300 Chinese brush paintings, 200+ watercolors, 100+oils) won art exhibit prizes in the San Mateo-Redwood City area. A year and a half ago Marie moved to Redding to be near old friends. Arangements are being handled by Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding. Interment will be at Alta Mesa Memorial Park in Palo Alto, Calif. ALLEN & DAHL FUNERAL CHAPEL (530)243-1525.
