Harold Henry Alexander was born July 7, 1917 at Vernal, Utah. He was the youngest child of Thomas Glenn and Cora May (Hazard) Alexander.
He married Ruth Williams Harrell March 24, 1945 at Boston, Massachusetts. Ruth preceded him in death in 1993.
"Alex" served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a volunteer firefighter in Vernal for over 50 years. He loved music, sports, hunting, fishing, camping, being in the outdoors and being with his family. He was a member of the LDS Church.
He was preceded in death by his four older siblings: Doris May (Alexander) Calder; Ralph Glen Alexander; Sadie Violet (Alexander) McConkie; and George Mirl Alexander.
Alex and Ruth had two children who survived at the time of his passing, as did six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Alex passed away at the VA Hospital at Salt Lake City April 25, 2001. His obituary was published in the Salt Lake "Tribune" April 28, 2001.
Funeral services were held April 28, 2001 at Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. Burial, with military honors by the American Legion, was in Vernal Memorial Park.
