Marjorie Gladys Hahn of Hermiston, was born December 7th 1914 at Almira, WA to James D. and Minni E. White pioneers of that area. She died Wednesday Feb. 24, 2010 in Hermiston at the age of 95 years.
She attended both Wilbur and Almira High Schools, graduating in 1931 as Salutatorian of her class. She attended Oregon State College during the 1931-1932 school year but was unable to continue due to the Great Depression.
She later worked as a secretary for Sears Roebuck & Co in Wenatchee, WA until 1940 then moved to Portland to attend Multnomah Bible School and graduated in 1943.
Marjorie also worked at Whitworth College in Spokane WA where she attended classes graduating in 1958 with a teaching degree and later obtained a Master's degree from the University of Washington.
She was married to Gerald Hahn in 1961. She taught at Mead Junior High School for 17 years. From 1975-1977 she taught at Dufur High School. In 1977, she moved to Irrigon and taught at Umatilla High School retiring in June 1984.
Marjorie was a member of ALPHA DELTA KAPPA teachers Honorary, Oregon Retired Educators, and several senior citizen groups.
In 2000, she was elected Director for the Blue Mountain District of Oregon State Foundation of garden clubs, where she served for two years.
She was a member of New Beginnings Christian Fellowship and served on the Board of Directors for four years.
Marjorie enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by one niece, and four nephews.
She was a very close friend of the Ramcharan family.
