Parents: Noble W. and Hettie Frances White.
The White family moved from Oklahoma to Roseburg, Oregon in 1931. After moving to Roseburg, she married Otto Conn in 1934. In 1935 they had their daughter, Barbara. They farmed until 1946, then moved to Yakima, Washington.
Dad worked for the Army Engineers & Bureau of Reclamation as an Inspector on canals and dams. Mom attended Beauty School in Yakima and became a beautician in 1951. We moved to Pasco in 1951, and mom worked at several shops.
In 1962, Dad and Mom moved to Goldendale, Washington. She owned her own Beauty shop "Neola's Beauty Shop" until 1966. They moved back to Roseburg and Dad passed away in 1966.
Mom moved back to Pasco and continued working. She married Harold Alvey in 1977. Harold and mom loved to travel to Reno, Nevada and other states to visit family and friends. They were also active in the Moose Lodge, bowled on several leagues and loved to play bingo. Harold passed away in 1994.
Mom enjoyed quilting, embroidery, any kind of handwork. She enjoyed fishing and she always had a beautiful garden. She will be missed by all her family and friends.
Neola is survived by daughter, Barbara (Johnny) Gower; three grandchildren, Keith Gower of Tacoma, Washington; Kathy Bausch of Kennewick and Karen (Blair) Cooper of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. There are eight great-grandchildren; Amanda Gower of Tacoma; Nick, Ben, Tony, and Marty Bausch all of Kennewick; Kalleigh Bausch of Seattle; Casey and Cody Cooper of Highlands Ranch. There are two Great-great-grandchildren Braydon and Brooklyn Bausch of Kennewick.
Neola is also survived by her brother, Kiles (Eloanor) White; extended family members, Betty White, Betty Lou Horn of Roseburg and Kay White of Grants Pass, Oregon; as well as many cousins, nephews and nieces, special friends, Lawrence Putman David and Glenda Tobias.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Noble W. White and Hettie Francis White. Brothers, Carl, Leon, James and Noble White; also her husbands, Otto L. Conn and Harold D. Alvey. A viewing will be on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at Hillcrest Bruce Lee Memorial Center, 2804 W. Lewis St. in Pasco. Funeral service will be on Thursday, January 20, 2011, 1 p.m. at Hillcrest Bruce Lee. Burial to follow at City View Cemetery.
