Allen Burris, 71, of Salem Ind., formerly of the Milltown Community in Adair Co., died at 12;10 pm Mon 24 Aug [1981] in Clarksville, Tenn. He was a member of the Milltown Baptist Church and a retired farmer. He united in marriage to Iceline Maupin 24 Dec 1932. She preceded him in death 7 Mar 1967. To this union 4 sons and 1 daughter were born: David Harold Burris died in infancy. Surviving are : J. C. Burris of Clarksville, Tenn., Russell Burris of Mt. Washington, Ky., Calvin Burris of Campbellsville and Carolyn Rutherford of Salem, Ind. Besides his children, he is survived by 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers and 4 sisters: Leslie Burris of Sandusky, Ohio, Chester Burris of Greensburg, Raymond Burris and Evelyn Canilson, both of Columbia, Naomi Martin and Mae Wright, both of Campbellsville, Nettie Forsythe of Louisville and Ezra Burris of Anderson, Ind; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were at 2 pm Wed. 26 Aug at the Parrott and Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by the Rev. Jakie Carmicle. Burial was in Tarter's Chapel Cem. in Adair Co., Pallbearers were Bradley Burris, Kenny Burris, Jimmy Forsythe, Ricky Burris, Hollis Milby and Michael Carnelison.
