Son of Calvin Bachrach and Fannye Weisel Bachrach. Born and grew up in Roanoke, Virginia. Attended the Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point in New York where he met Mary Udell. They married in 1951 and moved to Roanoke. However, in 1954 I was born in Roanoke and immediately thereafter they followed Mary's father, Daniel Udell to Palm Beach County. They lived the rest of their lives there. Their three children are Alan (me), Michael and Julie Bachrach Hershman. Floyd died suddenly on Oct 28, 1993 while exercising.
