Son of Calvin Bachrach and Fannye Weisel Bachrach. Born and grew up in Roanoke, Virginia. Attended the Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point in New York where he met Mary Udell. They married in 1951 and moved to Roanoke. However, in 1954 I was born in Roanoke and immediately thereafter they followed Mary's father, Daniel Udell to Palm Beach County. They lived the rest of their lives there. Their three children are Alan (me), Michael and Julie Bachrach Hershman. Floyd died suddenly on Oct 28, 1993 while exercising. He was known to have a severe Mitral Insufficiency and likely died of arrhythmia.Son of Fannye Weisel Bachrach and Calvin Bachrach. Grew up in Roanoke and then attended the Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY. There he met Mary Udell and they married in 1951. They moved to West Palm Beach in 1954 where he initially worked for Mary's father, Daniel Udell. However, he invested in gas station properties and built a modest fortune. They had three children: Alan, Michael and Julie. He died suddenly while exercising, probably of a cardiac arrhythmia from a severe mitral valve deformity. He had been president of Temple Beth El in West Palm Beach and was admired by many.
