Robert L. Agee served for sixteen months aboard the Cutter Tampa (USCG, Co. A), and attained the rank of Seaman-Fireman.

He died at the age of 22, when the ship was torpedoed in the Bristol Channel. VFW Post 1966, which was charted in 1930, is named after him.
