A native of Union, he was a son of Lillian Barber Alexander of Union and the late Paul Edward Alexander. He was of the Baptist faith and was formerly employed with United Merchants at the Union and Buffalo Plants.
Surviving in addition to his mother are two daughters, Mickie Diane Alexander of the home and Vanessa Dale Alexander of Columbia; three sisters, Charlotte A. West of the home and Judith A. Crumley and Diane A. Williams, both of Union; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Bobby Crocker and Dr. Ken Sneed. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.
