Charles H. Bailey, 86, of 102 N. Third St., Wyoming, died Friday, Jan. 2, 1998, at his residence.

Born Dec. 25, 1911, in Wyoming to Alexander Charles and Mary Swope Bailey, he married Betty I. Scott on June 29, 1941, in Wyoming. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Jim of Wyoming, John of Kewanee and Jeff of Arlington, Texas; four daughters, Janet Bailey of Cornelius, Ore., Julie Chisholm of Vancouver, Wash., Jane Dahmer of Green Oaks and Joanne Hickey of Morton; and one sister, Frances St. John of Wyoming. Two brothers and seven sisters preceded him in death.

He was a World War II Army Air Forces veteran. He was a member of Wyoming Masonic Lodge 479, AF&AM, where he served as past Master.

He was a farmer and owned and operated a hardware store in Lacon. He also worked for Hyster Co. in Peoria before retiring.

He was a member of Wyoming Betterment Association and Wyoming United Methodist Church.

Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery.
