Mr. Roy Burton, aged 51, died Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Grenada Lake in Grenada, MS. Me was a resident of Choctaw County where he was a logger. He enjoyed having good time with his friends and family.
He is survived by his mother, Avis Marie Burton; adopted daughter, Paisley Bell of Mathiston; two brothers, David Burton of Weir and Russell Burton of Eupora. He is also survived by five sisters, Linda (Randy) Dempsey of Ackerman; Joyce May of Brandon; Debra Medders of Eupora; Darline (Dexter) Jones of Mathiston; and Julie Salley (James Craig) of McCool. He had numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Burton was preceded in death by his father, James Alton Burton and one brother, Douglas Burton.
Funeral Services for Mr. Roy Burton were Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Wise Reed Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Visitation was Monday night from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial was in McCurtain's Creek Cemetery. Bro. Willy Weddle officiated with music by Donnie Buckner. Pallbearers were Dexter Jones, Robbie Dempsey, Tony Dempsey, Michael Burton, Keith Medders, and Jake Medders.
