Abundio Sanchez, 50, of Cottonwood, Ariz., died Aug. 27, 2008. He was born in Zacatecas, Mexico, on June 15, 1958, to Raphael and Margarita Sanchez.

Professionally, Abundio worked as a molder with Mold'n Graphics. On a personal level, Abundio was always in the service of others. He was a member of the Cottonwood Assembly of God Church for 22 years, where he was the Head Usher, and he established the Bus Ministry which sole purpose was picking up local children so that they were able to attend services and events.

This program also saw that these children were fed. Abundio loved riding motorcycles, and served as Chaplin for the Christian Motorcycle Association. He also preached at the County Jail.

Abundio enjoyed softball as well, but not as much as he loved reading the Bible and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He leaves behind his wife of 25 years, Theresa Sanchez of Cottonwood; four sons, Manuel (Joy) Sanchez of Sedona, Mark (Misty) Sanchez of Prescott Valley, Arthur Sanchez of Cottonwood, and David Sanchez of Highlands Ranch; his daughter, Grace (Damion) Robinson of Cottonwood; his brother, Art (Cindy) Sanchez of California; four sisters, Ophelia (Mike) Saucedo, Maria (Robert) Rivera, Yolanda (Leo) Gutierrez-all of California, and Velia (Louie) Gutierrez of Cottonwood; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be at the Cottonwood First Assembly of God Church on Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 10 a.m. with a viewing after the service.

Abundio will be laid to rest at the Valley View Cemetery in Clarkdale immediately following.
