DUMAS - Essie Edith Ball, 90, died Saturday, March 17, 2007.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Brad Foster, pastor of the church, officiating and the Rev. Mark Wallis, pastor of Life Tabernacle Church in Dumas, assisting. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors.

Essie Edith Ball was born July 13, 1916, in Van Buren, Ark., to Oliver and Nora Marshall Lindsey. She was a homemaker and had been a Dumas resident since 1952. She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church of Dumas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L.D. Ball in 1996; a son, Charles W. Ball in 1981; a granddaughter, Susan Thompson in 1996; three sisters; and two brothers.

Survivors include a daughter, Sondra Holt and husband Paul of Dalhart; three sons, Don Ball and wife Judy of Bowling Green, Ky., Doug Ball and wife Barbara of Amarillo and Terry Ball and wife Judith of Terrell; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Annabelle Testerman of Dumas and Wilma Blankenship of Sherwood, Ark.; and a brother, Eugene Lindsey of Shreveport, La.

The family suggests memorials be to Memorial Hospice, 224 E. Second, Dumas, TX 79029 or Calvary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 633, Dumas, TX 79029.
