Claudine Nappier was born on February 12, 1936, in Nelson County, Virginia. She was the first born of 10 children from the union of Cade Franklin Nappier Sr. and Emma Gene Morse Nappier. Claudine departed this life peacefully on Thursday, February 13, 2014, at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia. Claudine joined White Rock Baptist Church at an early age. She enjoyed attending church until her health began to fail. She graduated from the Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville, Virginia. Claudine was a mainstay in the Nappier family and provided unconditional love and support. Claudine enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends. Her hobbies included collecting family photos, gardening, and traveling. Most recently she traveled to the Mall of America in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Other travels included Disney World in Orlando, Florida, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and a special graduation celebration in Omaha, Nebraska. Claudine was preceded in death by her parents, Cade Franklin Nappier Sr. and Emma Gene Morse Nappier; and a brother, Bruce Nathaniel Nappier. She leaves to cherish her precious memories six brothers, Cade Franklin Jr. (Mary) Madison Heights, VA, James Wilkie (Linda) Amherst, VA, Carroll Louis (Elsie) Arrington, VA, Percy Serrell (Mary Ann), Amherst, VA, Linnell (Sandra), Amherst, VA, and Milton Eugene (Juanita), Bowie, MD; two sisters, Emma Arlene Nappier Wardlaw (Charles), Arrington, VA, and Daisy Pauline Nappier Ashe (Charles), Upper Marlboro, MD; sister-in-law, Josephine Nappier; two uncles and four aunts, Massie and Esther Napier, Thomas and Barbara Napier, Margaret Constance Napier Henderson, and Lois Wheeler Napier. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The funeral services will be held at White Rock Baptist Church, Arrington, Virginia, on Thursday, February 20, 2014, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Howard L. Grooms Jr. officiating.
