Albert Preston ''A.P.'' Baxter, age 64, of Newalla, OK, was born on October 7, 1945, in Wynnewood, OK. He was the son of Ernest Fred & Vernie Marie (England) Baxter. He went to be with our heavenly father on Thursday, November 5, 2009, in Newalla, OK, after a long battle with cancer. A.P. married Judy Hill on January 27, 1964, in Del City, OK. He worked as a welder at CMI-Terex for 35 years before having to retire. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newalla. He loved OU football, the Dallas Cowboys, and Nascar, expecially Dale Earnhardt and Dale, Jr. He raced his own car at Goldsby, Meeker and the Fairgrounds. He loved motorcycles, and he and Judy always read together. A.P. loved all kids, especially his gandkids. He will be greatly missed by anyone who ever met or knew him. A.P. was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Ernestine Sowter, Barbara McConnell and Missy Baxter. Survivors include his wife, Judy Baxter of the home; son, Tony Baxter, Newalla, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Kay & Randy Recher, Newalla, OK; 3 brothers, Larry, Orvile & Terry Baxter; 1 sister, Dovie Moon; 5 grandchildren, Kayla Recher, Courtney & Toni Rae Baxter, Ryan & Alex Recher and many other relatives and friends. Services will he held 10:00 A.M., Monday, November 9, 2009, at the Newalla First Baptist Church, Newalla, OK, with Rev. Griff Henderson officiating.
