Baxter, a resident of the state since 1904, came to Holdenville from Montague county, Texas. He operated a grocery store at Holdenville for years and in 1921, he moved to Harrah.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Ellen Baxter; two sons, S. M. Baxter, accountant with the Oklahoma Gas & Electric Co., from Harrah; and Bert Baxter of Riverside, California; two daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Erbin of Harrah and Mrs. Grace McMahan of Houston, Texas and ten brothers and sisters.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church at Harrah. Burial will be in Harrah with Watts and McAtee funeral home in charge of arrangements.
