Erve Chaney came to Garden City with 70 head of horses from Comanche County Texas in 1879. Came in two covered wagons and traded a few horses for 1/2 section of land. At one time Erve had a 43 room hotel and a man named Cobb bought it and moved it with horses.
Possible children of Erve and Elizabeth were Fred, McD., John R., Lottie, Lucy, Walter, Clyde E. and possibly others.
