Joseph Patterson, 81, died Wednesday at Bulloch Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was a native of Charleston, S.C., and lived in New York many years prior to moving back to Statesboro. He was a retired building superintendent, a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of St. Mary's United Methodist Church and Doric Lodge #5 Free and Accepted Masons.
Survivors include his wife, Addie J. Patteron, Statesboro; one daughter, Yvonne Lee, Stone Mountain; one brother, Leroy Dubois, Charleston, S.C.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at St. Mary's United Methodist Church in Brooklet with the Rev. James Canty officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. James R. Barnes Mortuary.
