PATIPA, EUGENE, 85, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2008.
He was born in Czechoslovakia on December 29, 1922.
He survived the concentration camp at Matthausen.
He met Miriam, his wife of almost 61 years, in Prague and Married in 1947. They emigrated to Israel in 1948 where he served in the Hagannah, the Israeli liberation army. They moved to Miami in 1955. He founded Picasso Men's clothing manufacturing company.
Eugene was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was loved and respected by everyone, always had a smile and a kind word to say. He was the perfect example of a husband, father, grandfather and human being truly fulfilling the definition of a mensch. He will be remembered and missed.
He is survived by his wife Miriam, sons Drs. Michael and Benjamin and their wives Bonnie and Marla of West Palm Beach, granddaughters Leah, a veterinary student, Elizabeth, a law student, Morgan, a beautiful 5th grader, and Ryan, a wonderful first grade student of whom he was so very proud; brother Herman in Sweden and sister Barbara in New York.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at noon at Star of David Cemetery and Funeral Chapels of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach, followed by Shiva on Tuesday night October 7 at 6 PM at the home of Dr. Michael and Bonnie Patipa.
