Anderson died Monday, May 5, 1997, in Lubbock´s Methodist Hospital. He was born Aug. 27, 1921, in Crosbyton. He married Margie Helen Gregory, and she died in 1980. He married Inez L. Patty on Jan. 21, 1984, in Lubbock. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He moved to Lubbock from Crosbyton in 1941. He worked for the Texas Highway Department, retiring in 1986.
Survivors include a son, Dwayne of Simpsonville, S.C.; three daughters, Betty Henry, Lavell Baker and Kay Wright, all of Lubbock; two stepsons, Charles Patty of Fripp Island, S.C., and Mike Patty of Hayward, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Inez Pearce of Atlanta, Ga., and Charlotte Baker of Lubbock; two brothers, Tommy Anderson of Memphis, Texas, and Marshal Anderson of Lubbock; a sister, Leta Sarten of Lubbock; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; and 11 great-stepgrandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the Crosbyton Cemetery Association, Box 62, Crosbyton 79322.
The body will be at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until services. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
