Wesley came to Shannon County after the war and settled near Birch Tree. He married Dorcas Woods about 1865 and their children were; Martha Elizabeth, William Thomas, and Charles. Dorcas died when Charles was born.
Wesley married Louisa Jane, daughter of Sanders Tayler and Leah Light Ramsey, on August 7, 1872, in Iron County, Missouri. Louisa Ramsey (1848 - 1890). Wesley's and Louisa's children were: Edward James (1873-1890); Sanders Alexander (1874 -1961); Mary Talitha (1878 in Salem - died 1941 at Birch Tree); Lillie Jane (1880 - 1950 in Birch Tree); Gilbert Aaron (1883 - 1964 in Birch Tree); Charlotte Florence (1886 in Salem and married Jessie Jenkins); and Etta Belle (born and died 1890).
Wesley worked for a charcoal company in Dent County. They cut cordwood, stacked it in tepee shaped piles, and burned it slowly to make the charcoal. Wesley later farmed on the old place which Tom Wallace bought.
