"Charles Adams, 51, of Perry Township, used a double-barreled shotgun to kill his girlfriend, Sandra Calnan, 47, in her home at 29 Railroad St., Fatora said.
Adams had been romantically involved with Calnan for about seven years, Fatora said, and "she's been trying to break the relationship off for about two and he really wasn't happy about that."
Apparently, Adams went to Calnan's house sometime late yesterday afternoon and there was a scuffle between the couple and Calnan's husband, William, 49.
William Calnan left the house to call police, Fatora said, and while he was gone Adams shot Mrs. Calnan once in the head, then shot himself in the head.
The victims were pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 6 p.m., Fatora said. No autopsies are scheduled. Mrs. Calnan's cause of death was ruled a homicide and Adams' a suicide."
