Enoch and Eustie met at Menaul High School. Eustolia worked alongside her husband at McCurdy School for over 50 years. After retirement Eustie volunteered with the State of New Mexico Ombudsman program for 18 years. Eustolia loved her family and was very active in her Church.
Eustolia was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Melquiades and Apolonita Ortega, brother, Ismael Ortega and sisters, Esther Ortega, Lourdes Montoya, Addie Ortega and Benigna Romero.
Eustolia is survived by her husband of 65 years, Enoch A. Rodríguez, daughter, Esther Schattschneider and her husband, Bill of Belén, NM, son, Rodd Rodríguez of San Miguel de Allende Mexico, sister, Elsie O. Miranda of Española, brother, Ambrosio Ortega of Albuquerque, grandchildren, Kim (Matthew Montaño) of Albuquerque, Curtis (Roseabelle) Schattschneider of Española and great-grandchildren, Jeren, Ethan and Madizyn and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Belén on Saturday, May 24, 2014 beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Gifts in her honor may be made to McCurdy Ministries, Menaul School and Comfort Keepers of Valencia County.
The family extends their sincerest gratitude to her caregivers and Gentiva Hospice of Albuquerque.
