Nellie J. Mackey, 84, formerly of Blandburg died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield. Born Aug. 15, 1925, at Beccaria, she was a daughter of William C. and Florence G. (Ball) Gathagan. She worked as a nurses aide for Home Health Agency in Cambria and Blair Counties. Mrs. Mackey was a member of the Women's Missionary Group and Hollentown Assembly of God Church, where she taught Sunday School for 60 years. She is survived by two daughters, Ruth Gray (Edward) of Glen Hope and Faye Krise (John) of Flinton; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Susan O'Donnell of Coalport RD and Adeline Heverly of Fallentimber RD; and two brothers, John and Henry, both of Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William V., on June 17, 1963; a daughter, Jean E. Hollen, in 1986; two brothers, James and William; and infant brother, Percy. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at Hollentown Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Joseph Hollen officiating. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, at Gibbons Funeral Home, Coalport, and from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of services on Saturday, Feb. 26, at the church. Interment will be at Ball Cemetery, Coalport.
