Interment services for Amanda Carlson of Auburn, Wash., were held March 7, 1967 at the Kensington cemetery. Rev. Kent Carlander officiated. Casket bearers were: Roy Johnson, William Lofquist, Roy Osterberg, Walter Osterberg, Joe Wetterling and Verner Wetterling.
Amanda E. Carlson was born at Kensington, Minn. on November 12, 1882, the daughter of John and Christine Backman. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She lived in the Kensington area until 1916 when she moved to Eau Claire, Wis., where she lived until her husband went into the army in 1917. From 1919 to 1930 she lived in Montana and Washington. She returned to Kensington in 1930 and lived there until 1943 when she moved to Auburn, Wash., to live with her daughter, Mrs. Sallie Moses.
Mrs. Carlson died March 3, 1967 at Auburn, Wash., where she had been in failing health for about two months at the age of 84 years, 3 months and 21 days. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Sallie Moses of Auburn, Wash., a sister, Mrs. Mons Stolaas of Minneapolis; two grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1934, her parents, a half-sister and a half-brother.
