Birth: Aug. 20, 1908
Zion
Lake County
Illinois, USA
Death: Dec. 19, 1987
Luna County
New Mexico, USA

The son of Joseph and Ida Means-Gottschalk.
Siblings were Ruth Elizabeth (md. Snelling), Paul Alexander, William Carey, Ezra Means, and Timothy Means.
He married to Elizabeth Kathryn Shaub, June 19, 1937.
He was a Methodist minister and his hobby was using his skills and imagination as an artist and craftsman, as seen by his appreciation for stained glass.
During his years in Deming, N. Mexico, he designed and made a stained glass window for the chapel of the United Methodist Church in Deming. It was presented by Asher, and dedicated to their (Asher and Elizabeth) parents "Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Gottschalk and Mr. and Mrs. James T.S. Shaub.
From information that was given to Bette Irwin, the neice of Asher, he also, apparently, made and presented two stained glass panels for the High School Department.
