Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 8, at Stokesdale Christian Church with Dr. Jim Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A Guilford County native, Tony was born on June 6, 1939, the daughter of the late Erastus and Lula Turner Charles. She was a lifetime member of Stokesdale Christian Church and a member of the Class of 1957 at Stokesdale High School.
Before moving to Fayetteville, Tony was office manager for Electric Supply Company. While in Fayetteville, she owned the Real Estate Preview publication and was a member of the Gates Four Country Club. She was a six-time Championship Tournament winner there. She was also a devout fan of the Carolina Tarheels, the Atlanta Braves, and NASCAR. She loved nothing more than spoiling her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband of thirty- four years, Bob Dunbar of the home; daughters Debra Price and her husband, Vinson, of Summerfield and Allison Lynch and her husband, John, of Greenville, NC; a step-daughter Donita Dunbar of Morehead City; a sister Betty Wall of Madison; six grandchildren Carey Price (Abbey), Andy Price, Mallory Price, Stephanie Lynch, Hunter Lynch, and Holden Lunch; and her great granddaughter Calleigh Price, lovingly known as "Pooty-Poot".
She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Hicks.
The family would like to acknowledge Donna, Debbie, and Janet, Hospice caregivers, for the loving care and concern shown to Mrs. Dunbar and her family during her illness.
The family will receive friends this evening, Sunday, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Forbis & Dick Brooke Chapel, and other times at the home.
