Lewis (Connie) Davis, 66, a lifelong resident of Appanoose County, who resided in Plano, died Sunday, Sept 25,- while hunting north of Plano. Death was attributed to a
heart attack.
Born Sept. 7, 1911, in Appanoose County, he was the son of Wilkerson and Nancy Locke Davis. On July 16, 1950, he married Ruby Jones in Plano, and she survives.
He was a member of the Christian Church. He had been employed in maintenance work. His parents preceded
him in death. Survivors besides his widow include three
"heart adopted" daughters,
Carol J. Martin
Mary Haines, both of Plano,
Betty Sager of Seymour;
eight "heart adopted" grandchildren;
four brothers,
Glen Davis of Seymour,
Wilk and Cy Davis, both of Oklahoma and James Davis
of Davenport,
two sisters,
Lilly Vaughn of Oklahoma
Annie Majors of Albia.
The body was at the Davis home in Plano prior to graveside services at Jones Cemetery northwest of
Plano Tuesday afternoon. Miller Wehrle Funeral Home of Centerville was in charge of arrangements.
A memorial has been established by the family and gifts may be left at the funeral home.
