Gene Stoerger, age 79, of Villa Grove passed away at 1:31 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at The Carle Arbours in Savoy.
He was born Nov. 17, 1927 in Ivesdale to Harry and Iva Burwell Stoerger. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He married Florence Foster on July 3, 1948 in Arcola. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Larry (Cindy) Stoerger of Savoy; one daughter, Cindy (Robert) Thomas of Villa Grove; five grandchildren, Justin (Natalie) Thomas of Philo, Shelly (Gary) McCaskill of Philo, Scott (Dawn) Stoerger of Kokomo, Ind., Kristin (Phil) Kesler of Rockford and Vinny Thomas of Villa Grove; eight great-grandchildren and two sisters, Lois Nussell of St. Louis and Edna Waldrop of Villa Grove.
