Born in Cleveland he was a resident of Bernhards Bay for 23 years and resided most of his life in Granby. He had retired as a farmer. Between 1929 and 1935 he was Town of Granby highway superintendent.
He was a Navy veteran of World War I, serving with the North Atlantic mine-laying fleet in the North Sea. He was a former member of Bernhards Bay Methodist Church and of the Grange. He also had been a Sunday school superintendent in Bernhards Bay.
Surviving are his wife, the former Sadie Schillinger; a son, Harold F. of Phoenix; a daughter, Mrs. Glen Raymond of Fulton; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were Wednesday at the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home. Burial was in Cleveland Village Cemetery.
