Mr. Franklin was born July 4, 1911, in Enon, W.Va. He was the son of the late Neville and Martha Franklin. He was owner/operator of C. Franklin and Son Painter in Dover. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Thomasville.
Mr. Franklin also is survived by three sons, Robert L. Franklin, Gerald E. Franklin and Donald G. Franklin, all of Dover; a daughter, Betty J. Schenandore of Dover; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
