Andrea Grace Chaney, age 25, of Waldorf, Maryland passed away at her home February 3, 2014 Andrea was born January 3, 1989 at Civist Hospital in LaPlata, Maryland to Richard and Debbie (Cooksey) Chaney. She was raised in Charles County and attended the Calverton School in Huntingtown, Maryland until her freshman year and then she graduated from Thomas Stone High School in Waldorf, Maryland. Following graduation Andrea Worked for her family business, Chaney Enterprises, and Skipper's Pier in Deale, Maryland before moving to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she helped her father with his Superboat racing team. Recently she had returned home to help in the family business.
Andres enjoyed life, spending time with her family and friends, She was very athletic and played on the Calverton basketball, field hockey and lacrosse teams and Thomas Stone field hockey team. She loved snow skiing, boating, fishing, crabbing, swimming, dancing and children. She especially loved animals, especially her cat, Casper and horseback riding with her horses Taz and Governor.
Andrea was preceded in death by her grandparents James and Glena Cooksey and Richard and Mary Mac Chaney. She is survived by her parents, her aunts and uncles, Susie and Chris Hayden, James (Jimbo) Cooksey, Donna and Christopher Bunn, Rebekah (R.G.) and Keith Lare, her cousins, Jessica Cooksey, Jimmy Cooksey, Jillian Gilroy-Cooksey, Natalie Hayden and her fiancé Matt Wagner, Molly Hayden Clark and her husband John Clark, Phillip Bunn, William Bunn, Elizabeth Bunn, Spencer Bunn, Brantley Bunn, Cheyney Lare. Owen Lare, Grace Lare and other relatives too many to count.
Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to The Chaney Foundation, c/o The Chaney Foundation 914 Bay Ridge Road, Suite 220 Annapolis, Maryland 21403.
Services will be held Saturday February 15th at Christ Church, 220 Owensville Road, West River, Maryland at 12:00. The burial and reception will follow the service at the home of Chris and Donna Bunn.
