| Birth: | Oct. 11, 1849 Greencastle Putnam County Indiana, USA | | Death: | Jun. 22, 1906 Coatesville Hendricks County Indiana, USA |  He was born the second son of Zimri Warren and his first wife Martha (Patsy) Robinson. They lived in Marion Twp. of Putnam County until the mid-1850's when his parents moved to Montgomery County, Illinois for a few years. His mother died in 1861 and his father moved the family back to Coatesville, Clay Twp., Hendricks County, Indiana where his father married his second wife Abigail Layton Figg, a widow with 3 children. He fell in love with his step-sister Sarah Elizabeth Figg and they married on July 10, 1875. They had one son, Francis Allen (Frank or Al). Sarah died about March 1880 leaving Joseph with a 3-yr. old to raise. Joseph left his son with his father and his step-mother to raise until he could get his life back together. In 1880, he was boarding at Stack's hotel at 233 Chestnut Street in Terre Haute while working for the railroad. He met his second wife Margaret (Maggie or Mollie) Miller (1854) and married on Feb. 2, 1881 in Vigo County. They had 3 sons, Mark Robbins Warren (1885); Benjamin Harrison Warren (1888); and Mahlon B. Warren (1891). On June 22, 1906, he got drunk in Green Castle, hopped a freight train to home on the Vandalia line, was put off by the crew, and he sat down on the end of a railroad tie and was hit by a passenger train. He died from laceration and bursting of a kidney.
