Benerito was known to be a very helpful man, always willing to lend a hand. Benerito loved to watch old western movies and collect model cars.
Benerito was preceded in death by his parents, Secundino and Dolores "Lola" Valdéz Romero, his wife, Olga Valdéz, son, Antonio Valdéz, great-grandson, Micah Jon Naab and several brothers and sisters, step-father, José Dolores Romero, father-in law, Henry Romero and sister-in-law, Pauline Valdéz.
Benerito is survived by his son, Dino Valdéz and his wife, Sandra of Las Vegas, NM, step-daughter, Monica Lafleur and her husband, Greg and family of Oakley, CA, grandchildren, Miriah Valdéz, Jeremy Valdéz, Lorilee Valdéz, Matthew Chávez, Tomas Torres and Leticia Torres, sisters and brothers, JoAnn Romero and her husband, Henry of Las Vegas, NM, Henry Valdéz and Mary Ulibarrí of Sapello, NM, Johnny Roy Valdéz and his wife, Angelina of Las Vegas, NM, Joe Romero of Sapello, NM, Benny Romero and his wife, Marcella of Albuquerque, NM, Leroy Romero and his wife, Yolanda of Tomé, NM, Mary Otero of Albuquerque, NM, Josie Encinias and Alice Salazar and her husband, Pete all of Santa Fé, NM, uncle, Richard Torres of Sapello, NM, aunts, Alice Romero of Sapello, NM, Clorinda Gonzáles of CO, mother-in-law, Belia Medina of Phoenix, AZ and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rosary services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2013. Funeral Mass will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2013 with both services to be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with Father Anthony Akabogu as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Cañoncito Cemetery in Cañoncito, NM with the following serving as Casket Bearers, Jeremy Valdéz, Johnny Valdéz Jr., Rubin Valdéz, Orlando Romero Jr., Mathew Romero and Matthew Sandoval.
